Are you ready for GDPR?
On 25th May 2018 a new privacy law – the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) goes into effect in the European Union. The GDPR expands, strengthens and unifies the privacy rights granted to EU individuals, and places many new obligations on all businesses and organisations worldwide, that handle personal data of European citizens.
The EU citizens will now have “the right to be forgotten”. All organisations that collect data from the general public will have to show consent was given before data was collected. The regulation requires that all data must be held in a secure environment “Privacy by design”, and in case of suspected breach the local data protection authority must be notified within 72 hours.
With fines up to €20m, or up to 4% of global revenue for non-compliance, the pressure is on.
Do not wait any longer, start your GDPR transition now and book a GDPR Readiness Assessment.
