SharePoint Integration with Microsoft BI

Codec wants to make it easier for you to get access to the right data at the right time so you can make the right decisions while using the correct tools to access data.

We understand that the demand for self–service access is becoming increasingly important and the growing need to co-ordinate data from all sources for example in the market or with data on-premises or in the cloud.  The key business intelligence aspects of SharePoint include:

  • Business Insights & Analysis
  • Websites & Portals
  • Business Applications
  • Social Networking
  • Enterprise Content and Search

The core solution for integration is to build a Business Intelligence Solution using SharePoint, SQL Server, Excel and Visio Services.

Excel and Excel Services

Excel allows you to create powerful reports and scorecards using a variety of data sources using the PowerPivot modelling add-in. Excel Services allows you to view and interact with Excel workbooks that have been published to SharePoint sites.  If you use PowerPivot for Excel to create workbooks that contain analytical data, you must have PowerPivot for SharePoint to access that data in a server environment.

Excel Services can be used to share centrally managed workbooks published to a SharePoint Server while allowing you to explore workbooks in a browser window similar to using the Excel client, and display pieces and parts of workbooks in individual SharePoint Web Parts.

Power View

Power View allows you to view and interact with modelled data (PowerPivot, SSAS) by using interactive visualizations, animations and smart querying.

Power View can be used to create presentation-ready interactive dashboards and create reports that drill up and down and include pie charts, KPIs, maps and background images.

PerformancePoint Services

PerformancePoint Services enables your organisation to create and view interactive dashboards that display key performance indicators (KPIs) and data visualizations in the form of scorecards, reports, and filters.

Reporting Services

The full reporting capabilities in SQL Server Reporting Services integrate with SharePoint Server to provide a complete reporting environment.

Visio Services

Visio Services in SharePoint Server 2013 lets users share and view Visio drawing (*.vsdx) and Visio web drawing (*.vdw) files.
