Codec’s consultants identified Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the ideal solution to modernise Clúid’s infrastructure. Business Central could also be implemented with minimal customisations, reducing the up-front cost of this project as well as its long-term support needs.

Problem

An inefficient, outdated operational model

Clúid Housing delivers secure, high quality, affordable housing, and related housing services to citizens in need across Ireland. With more than 24,000 household stakeholders, 9,000 active properties and a team of more 280 professionals, Clúid is a dynamic organisation whose performance is critical to Ireland’s social infrastructure.

Despite its essential role in the social services infrastructure supporting Irish citizens, Clúid’s business processes were plagued by operational constraints and complex workarounds resulting from the organisation’s legacy finance systems.

Clúid’s existing infrastructure was not capable of handling complex multi-user analysis or meeting important reporting requirements. The organisation’s manual administration workload was also taxing, resulting in inefficient labour utilisation, slow workflows, and other business challenges.

Cloud-based modernisation to complement legacy systems

Codec’s consultants identified Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the perfect SaaS solution to modernise Clúid’s infrastructure and enable new capabilities and efficiencies. Business Central could also be implemented with minimal customisations, reducing the cost of this transformation project as well as its long-term support needs.

D365 Business Central provided Clúid with a cloud-based, user-friendly platform where administrators could easily generate reports and maintain a full audit trail. Jet Reporting was used to meet all of Clúid’s reporting needs, and Codec team members trained Clúid staff on how to properly build and manage these reports, ensuring flexibility and future-proof reporting for the organisation. Integrated document management and invoicing was used to help modernise the organisation’s financial infrastructure and reduce reliance on legacy systems.

By guiding a seamless integration with existing legacy infrastructure, Codec’s consultants were able to control costs for the migration project while focusing resources on the aspects of digital transformation that delivered the greatest value to the public sector organisation.
