The Lord Mayor, Oisin Quinn presented Codec at the Mansion House, Dublin with Dublin City’s first EcoMerit environmental certification following approval recently by a steering committee comprising the Environmental Protection Agency, Local Authorities and environmental consultancy, Econcertive.
The certificate is valid for 3 years subject to successful annual surveillance and Codec’s adherence to the EcoMerit programme requirements – one of which is a commitment to continuous improvement.
As well as becoming more eco-friendly, Codec anticipate making a 20-25% reduction in electricity usage by saving up to €2,000 per annum. Codec’s environmental improvement plans include:
