Dynamics NAV 2017 brings two worlds together
Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 is now generally available. Vishal Sharma – our own Dynamics NAV Team Lead – gives us an overview of what is new in this release, and some technical insights. First in this series is how Dynamics NAV 2017 brings two worlds together.
While Dynamics 365 for Financials includes some NAV functionality, Dynamics NAV is still very much a stand-alone product. And one can launch Dynamics NAV 2017 in the cloud rather quickly.
This latest version has been specifically enhanced to equip manufacturing, distribution, government, retail, and other industries, with far-reaching capabilities, including financial management and accounting; supply chain, manufacturing, and operations; marketing, sales, and service; project management; and business intelligence.
It builds on the success of Dynamics NAV 2016. Core functionality is now very much enriched. And the integration with Office 365 and Azure Cloud is better than ever. The new capabilities fully support business processes and empower organisations to boost productivity.
Businesses will now experience an outstanding user experience thanks to the integration of Dynamics NAV with Office 365 and Azure. This integration will in no doubt have a great impact on productivity, as it will reduce the on-going switching between applications. Some examples:
Power BI gives you the ability to translate your data into rich visuals so that you can focus on what matters most to your business. Now embedded in NAV 2017, Power BI allows you to analyse your information, see all of your data everywhere, from on-premise to the cloud, together in one place.
Users can easily create insightful charts and reports using Power BI, and make them available within their Dynamics NAV 2017 Role Center.
Any report that is created in Power BI may be made visible on the Dynamics NAV 2017 Role Centers. This enables users to get the information they need to perform their job right from within their Role Center.
These are just a few of the new capabilities in Dynamics NAV 2017. In the coming days, I’ll outline some of the most important enhancements. So watch this space!
Dynamics NAV 2017 is best suited for growing businesses, and those with specific functional needs, which can be further tailored by a Microsoft Dynamics NAV Gold Partner like Codec-dss.
