An international engineering, architecture, project management, and construction firm needed to move away from aging on-premises infrastructure and adopt a scalable, cloud-first model to support global teams and mission-critical workloads.
To achieve this, the organisation transitioned to Azure, enabling greater flexibility and scalability while removing the need for ongoing hardware refresh cycles. This cloud-first approach allows geographically dispersed users to securely access systems and applications, ensuring consistent performance and supporting critical operations across regions.
Codec implemented an enterprise Azure landing zone with secure, multi-region architecture, governance guardrails, and scalable infrastructure to enable migration and long-term innovation.
Reduced infrastructure costs
Improved scalability and flexibility
Strengthened security
Enabled a modern, cloud-first IT operating model.
Codec built an Enterprise Azure landing zone environment that follows key design principles across eight design areas. These design principles accommodate all application portfolios and enabled application migration, modernisation, and innovation at scale. The Azure landing zone uses governance guardrails to isolate and scale application resources and platform resources.
The multi-region landing zones utilised secure hub-and-spoke networking, perimeter security protection, identity federation and policy-based governance.
Once built, the construction company were able to start on their journey of migrating on premise infrastructure to a secure, reliable and scalable Azure environment. Initially starting with small workloads this increased to include all scoped infrastructure across multiple geographies.
On an ongoing basis we perform platform reviews and migration/design services: along with the ability to draw down SIAM-style managed services/vendor relationship services aligned to GDPR/NIS2.
The construction company has access to specialised expertise: Availability of Codec MVP-level cloud security and governance expertise to support the environment.
Since its launch, the construction company's new cloud infrastructure solution has become an integral part of the daily IT operations, accelerating its ability to expand its global employee base.
By helping the company transition, Codec’s infrastructure solution delivered the following outcomes:
